On July 4th we headed out to my aunt's and uncle's for a cookout and pool pay. The pool time did not happen as the sun never came out and it was too cold to go in the big pool. The kids did play in the kiddie pool, and they were fine with that. There were only two fights, which my mother was dying to start, so hopefully she's happy that she got to feel like a victim again. She's still not talking to me, all because I told her I didn't want to read some article she threw in my face as I was doing a cross word puzzle. Apparently "I'll read it later" was not an acceptable response. Whatever. The kids had a good time, and so did I! Mark ended up taking a nap in the basement, something I can't say Hanna did!
We went to a friends after that to watch some illegally bought fireworks (it is illegal to buy and shoot off fireworks in Ohio. For good reason...). Not naming names, but the firework setter offer put a firework on grass, not reading the DO NOT PUT ON GRASS, and the thing fell over and shot off onto the deck! It scared the pants off some little 4 year old girl, and some sparks hit her mom in the face. The rest of us took off so fast we could have been in the Olympics, Mark and I were holding our kids. After that the fireworks setter offer followed directions and everything was fine. But I'm not so sure I'll ever be watching a illegal fireworks show again!
Sunday we stayed home. I got to sleep in! Hooray! Not only did I get to sleep in, I took a 3 hour nap! I was actually regretting that at 2 in the morning when I couldn't sleep. And regretting it even more the next day as I was super tired. We went to see LEGAL fireworks in Aurora that night, and they were pretty awesome! I did not realize how many people would be there, or how big Sunny Lake Park was. I was hoping to run into a few friends I haven't seen in awhile, but there was no way I was going to find them in that crowd! Quinn was starting to get really antsy, but as soon as the fireworks started he stopped moving and watched them to the end!
It was a great holiday weekend, for the most part.

3 talk to me!:
Every single photograph tells a lovely story! Your kids are just so darn adorable!!! Looks like a fun time! (love the mucha lucha masks! lol!)
The weather didn't cooperate around here either. It's such a shame... but at least you enjoyed your weekend! Fun fireworks pics!
Oh my gosh, Quinn is so cute and Hanna has the most beautiful hair!
